Asia Social Impact Challenge is a flagship program by Sociopreneur Indonesia, empowering youth to tackle real-world problems through entrepreneurship—and turn bold ideas into lasting impact.

About the Challenge

To prepare the next generation to thrive in a rapidly changing world, the challenge invites students from schools and universities to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and innovation skills by addressing real problems in their communities.

Through their contributions, students not only create solutions for today—they also spark a ripple effect of change that inspires others, strengthens communities, and builds a future-ready generation committed to creating a better future for all.

Asian Youth at the Crossroads

We highlight four key issues about Asian youth that we should solve together to prepare a future-ready generation to create a better world.

Population

Youth population in Asia and the Pacific reaches 715 million individuals aged between 15 and 24, comprising 60% of the world’s youth population.

NEET Numbers

In 2023, 20.4% of young people globally were classified as NEET (not in Education, Employment, or Training). Two in three of these NEET’s were female.

Employability

In 2023, the global youth unemployment rate was ~13%, or over 64.9 million young people struggling to find stable employment.

Resources

Youth face a lack of available resources to improve skills that meet workforce needs.

Charting a Path Forward

  • Encourage the youth to create a positive impact on their surroundings through entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Preparing the youth with skills needed for the future
  • Foster an environment where innovative ideas in entrepreneurship education can thrive.
  • Promote social innovation by engaging multi-stakeholders in creating a sustainable learning ecosystem.

Creating Impact where It Counts

Real-world challenges such as waste segregation, queuing habits, literacy and numeracy, tree planting, protecting animal rights, saving habits, and many more.

Support the problem identification with data and/or information to justify the importance and urgency of solving the problems

Proposing innovative ideas to solve the problem, a small idea but a significant impact. Ensure the innovation will educate, engage, and have the potential to make people participate.

One Vision begins in the Classroom

Category 1: Primary & Secondary School

Category 2: Universities (Undergraduate Programs)

This category is open to undergraduate students who are ready to take initiative and lead change through innovative ideas. Participants will engage in identifying local or global social issues and implementing solutions that are practical, scalable, and inclusive.

Category 3: Schools from Teachers' Training Program

This special category is dedicated to schools and educators who are part of the Teachers’ Training Program. Empowered with new knowledge and tools, teachers and their students will co-create innovation projects based on social and educational challenges in their schools or communities.
